High Pressure Cold Spray

Welder working on a pressure vessel

HRC utilizes high pressure cold spray technology to provide protective coatings to enhance products for a variety of energy sector applications. Cold spray, also referred to as supersonic particle deposition, is a high-energy solid-state coating and powder consolidation process. It is an efficient method for the application of metals, metal alloys, and metal blends for numerous applications. Some of the benefits of cold spray are no heat affect zone, hand operable, no limit to deposition thickness, coatings are highly machinable and porosity commonly <1%. These benefits make cold spray a great fit in repairing cast iron and aluminum housings, shaft repair, thin wall pipe repair and vessel/ tank corrosion.
